Kwaja

its been a long time since i  posted something ....I had been busy with shows- along with not too great health...I performed Meera for an International Conference of Oil Technologists at Nehru Centre in December. Well the show went off well despite my health.
On February 10th put up a dance drama on Garib Navaz-Kwaja Moinuddin Chisti---The great sufi saint of Ajmer. This was first performed in the divine presence of Bhagavan Sri Satya Sai Baba  in 2005 during the Ashadi Ekadashi Celeberations. This time it was performed by the children of Little Angels School Children-about 112 of them.
Its always a great experience to work with children. One learns a lot from them.Yes Teaching the value of commitment-strving for excellence--makes one stronger in the same values--
All said and done on the final day they were great.....
What did I get   .....Some thing very rare in this world...Unconditional Love!!!!

pain

Strange title.... Yes?  Sports people go through it ....and dancers do..career related injuries....How does one deal with it.........
One can get depressed but that is no solution!!! yes medicines will help -but there is always a lurking fear that you may not do your best.....the first thing is to accept the situation ...and then take steps to fight it ...easier said then done !!
The key is acceptance and for me complete faith in the divine...Many times its a lesson and if one introspects one can learn from it...and once the lesson is learnt--things change for the better...actually one's attitude changes
One learns to value things that we always took for granted

Pain is a great teacher......so ....be grateful that 'HE' is teaching you things that otherwise you would never have learnt.....

rhythm

Rhythm is the life of dance!  Have you heard a man clapping for a song and going wrong??? and in a public place you cant do anything ....best thing is to move away..if possible.
taal or rhythm..is part of our daily lives too....the pitter patter of the rain on the roof...a chugging of a train moving out.... the stedy breath of a sleeping child....and have you noticed that when one is angry, upset or excited....the breath goes of rhythm....so steady your breath when you are mad at someone...and see how you become calmer......Rhythm of the heart .....goes haywire and you know what happens!

In indian tradition Lord Natraja-another aspect Lord Shiva--is the god of dance....the damaru in one hand creating a sound divine......in total rhythm....shakti whoose dance of creation ...manifests this wonderful  universe....and another form of hers Kali   destructs( earth quakes..tsunami's) it in a total wild rhythm---All these are symbolic to the different energies at work

If you are in rhythm with life there will be harmony at home and the dance of life will blissfull

Chittorgarh -Rajasthan programme

Hi!!!

Every year chittorgarh. has a programme called Meera Mahotsav. It was on the Chittorgarh fort that Meera lived with her husband (Ranaji)and his family. Rana's father -Rana Sangha  was the ruler of Chittorgarh. The fort has a temple of Krishna  built by the Rana specially for Meera --  where she could sing, dance and worship her Giridhari  to her hearts content.

So we had 2 shows-- the first one was in the town  and the second in the temple on the fort -where only selected songs were performed.. The temple vibrations were mindblowing.I had no idea who danced and who watched. It was Krishna Krishna Krishna.................... all along.
